During the 19 years that The Caregiver’s Voice has been online, we’ve been performing upgrades to the website. Like a river, we must keep flowing to maintain lively ideas and information. While many of our upgrades deal with site functionality, others include front-facing design and category upgrades.
We’re continually reviewing the categories. (These are the different sections you see on the home page.) In June of 2015, we added VOICES with Dementia to help family caregivers and medical professionals better understand the experiences of people who live with dementia. This has helped improve caregiving and care receiving.
As part of larger initiatives around the world, we have made much progress in the last two decades, raising awareness while reducing the stigma of dementia.
Earlier, we added Avadian’s Musings. These are fun and thoughtful topics to ponder that don’t easily fit in one of our other six categories.
Currently, we’re updating our Resource directories (a never-ending job). We’ll be consolidating our Local – Regional and National – International pages into one directory by the New Year.
With the flow of Google’s initiatives, our webmaster is exploring how to best migrate to a secure site with an https designation instead of our current http.
Life’s river keeps flowing and we’re flowing right along! Sometimes we get knocked upon a rock or tangled in a fallen tree. With your feedback, we’re sure to recover along this lively course. (Click on the 3-second video below.)
If there’s something you’d like to see more of (or less of or not at all), please send me an email. After all, we’re here to inform and inspire you with humor. In our fast-paced hectic world where most people don’t take a moment to respond, we’ll consider your feedback a gift.
