Caregiver Survival – what will it take?
Can I survive as a caregiver?
Next week Monday, I’ll be presenting I’m a Caregiver and I MATTER at The Olmsted for the Jewish Family and Career Services in Louisville, Kentucky.
Topics to be covered:
Caregiver Tip #1: Knowing about your loved one’s disease or illness so you know what to expect.
There are an estimated 100 or more Types / Causes of Dementia. We’ll discuss the leading causes, including “caregiver dementia,” and then a handful of the rarer causes.
How is one diagnosed with dementia?
There are currently five Methods of Diagnosing Dementia of which most people will only require the first three.
Can I Survive as a Caregiver?
To survive and even thrive as a caregiver you need to be brave enough to ask for help.
Fortunately, we live in a time when we have a wide range of continuum of care options from in-home care and adult day care to assisted living and skilled nursing care.
How we manage ourselves, while caregiving and which of these care options we choose, will determine if we thrive and even find the JOY in caregiving.
Finding the JOY in Caregiving
To find the JOY in caregiving, caregivers will benefit from Eight Tips for Caregivers including my Diamond Tip for Caregivers, which has made all the difference for thousands of caregivers worldwide.
The best part is…
It’s free! Thanks to the donors and supporters of this caregiving conference, JFCS invites family caregivers to attend FREE on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 9:30am until 3pm. Lunch is included.

We are excited to have Brenda visit our wonderful city and speak at our upcoming Caregiver Survival Workshop. Caregivers work so very hard and we want to provide them support, hope and encouragement.
Thank YOU, Gwen. I’m looking forward to presenting and getting to know the Louisville area HEROES (CAREGIVERS) and the professionals who help make their caregiving lives run smoother.
