Free Resource for Families Caring for Someone Living with Dementia
Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA) and the Benjamin Rose Institute (BRI) partnered to further refine FCA’s free guide for caregivers. The website notes, “For those who live in small towns or rural areas, and may not have local in-person services, there are many programs offered online.” When The Caregiver’s Voice entered our zip code in one of two neighboring cities with over 300,000 people, we received results from across the country. At least, new caregivers have a place to start searching. This FAQ page for caregivers will also prove helpful.
Food Safety—A Need-to-Know Guide
According to the Caregiver Action Network (CAN), “Each year, 48 million people in the U.S. experience foodborne illness—and those most at risk are children, older adults, and people with chronic health conditions. In partnership with USDA Food Safety & Inspection Service,” CAN offers clickable links (at the bottom of each page). Each offers “lessons” on Food Safety Basics; At-Risk Populations; and Food Safety Resources. Along the left margin of the page are clickable links by topic; for example, At Risk Older Adult Populations.
