Caregiver, take a Five-Minute Respite
Professionals often remind caregivers to take a respite.
I agree. Caregivers should take a respite.
BUT…
how reasonable is it to ask a busy caregiver trying to juggle life’s responsibilities to take an afternoon off let alone a weekend? Forget about a week’s vacation!
LIFE is demanding! I’m sure you’ve noticed.
Besides, it ends up taking three times as long to prepare to leave on a respite.
What can you do, to get a break now and then?
Take FIVE!
Yep, take a Five-Minute Respite.
Five minutes can make all the difference in the world!
Go ahead; take a Five-Minute Respite.
Otherwise, you may be given a “state-mandated vacation.” 😉

Your respite video gives viewers a snapshot into the emotional issues all caregivers at one time or another deal with. It makes us realize there are many individuals in the same situation, with the same feelings and we’re normal! The humor you add brings a breath of fresh air to our caregiving responsibilities. Thank you!
Thank YOU, Linda. We are fortunate to be able to have choices, today. When the “going gets tough” we can choose among a number of options including:
– The Five-Minute Respite
– Adult Day Care
– Residential care

Great Video. I hope everyone follows your advice. I do this all the tine. Walk out to the garage, go out back, throw something in a different room that will not break. Five minutes do really help.
🙂 Thanks, Don. You certainly have credibility as a long-time caregiver to your beloved Marie.
