A Call to Action for Dementia Awareness
Michael Ellenbogen, diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer’s disease, was featured on The Caregiver’s Voice last month.
Ellenbogen sent a Call to Action for worldwide dementia awareness.
This Call to Action invites us to publicly post the Purple Angel to signify our dementia awareness. This worldwide campaign is being spearheaded by Norman J. McNamara of the Torbay Dementia Action Alliance who co-created the Purple Angel with Jane Moore of the Camelford Dementia Action Alliance.
Click on the letter or text link below to read Ellenbogen’s Call to Action then print your own Purple Angel and post it in a public place of your business assuming all employees are dementia aware.
Brenda, Along with distributing the Angel Pins, Ordering the shirt and cup, I have also been faxing The Purple Angel call to doctors I know in the area.
Yaaaayyy, Don! Go Don. GO DON! 😉
Great visit tothe Neurologist yesterday for Marie. The drug they have identified as a potential treatment for Parkinson’s and LBD is under trial. The Doctor Marie sees is one of the three that are doing the trial. The drug is already approved for ALS by the FDA. They see little problem getting it approved for Parkinson’s. In trials done already it shows it can reverse the Parkinsonism and LBD. It has great potential and should be approved within 3-4 months provided there are no problems. WHooppppeeeee. I also have distributed 8 of the ten Angels, purchased a Angel Mug and Shirt to show Awareness. I am so happy we are finally seeing some action on making the world aware and seeing some results. The world is starting to pay attention to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and all related dementia’s. We really need this!
Don, thanks for sharing. Your comments are part of Dementia Awareness to help others whose loved ones may want to join this clinical trial for Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia.
And thank you for spreading awareness–one by one and we’ll blanket the world with Purple Angels for Dementia Awareness!
