The Caregiver’s Voice Names June “Zoe” Kelly – Caregiver of the Month of October
This month marks the debut of The Caregiver’s Voice Monthly Recognition program of deserving family and professional caregivers with Zoe Kelly, a caregiver Home Care Assistance office in San Diego, California in April 2009.
- After excellent reviews from her initial assignments, she was placed in a very difficult situation in July. Zoe was assigned to take care of live-in clients, Dominic and Mary, an elderly couple living in Encinitas, California. Dominic had rapidly failing health and Mary was suffering from early dementia. A month after Zoe was assigned to the case, Dominic passed away and Zoe was confronted with assisting a grieving eighty-five-year-old widow. The Caregiver’s Voice recognizes caregivers–the silent heroes who provide comfort and care to our loved ones.
Millions of caregivers worldwide provide quality care for loved ones, but their faces are unseen and their work goes unrecognized.
Caregivers engage in heroic deeds each day. Each month, The Caregiver’s Voice will recognize family and professional caregivers…
- for a job well done.
- to remind us of what constitutes quality care.
- to add a little fun and a “feel-good” element.
- to help raise awareness of what caregivers endure to provide quality care.
Nominations are open to family caregivers AND professionals.
Nominations close at midnight on the 20th of each month.
Family, friends, and professionals are invited to nominate for this recognition. Self-nominations are also welcome.
