The number of people living with dementia in the UK is increasing as it is worldwide. In the U.S., we’ve witnessed a 35% increase in the last dozen years–from 4 million to 5.4 million.
Steps are being taken in the UK to raise awareness of dementia.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- 163,000 cases of dementia are diagnosed in England and Wales each year.
- £50 million ($80.5 million US) is invested each year into dementia research annually by the government and charities.
- 50% of the cost of dementia in the UK is met by unpaid carers.
- By 2025, 1 million people will be diagnosed with dementia.
