Have you ever noticed that mothers are the glue that holds families together?
Mothers call their children and update them on what their sisters or brothers are doing, where they’re going, and what they’ve achieved.
Mothers were the analog version of today’s virtual Facebook status updates.
Both my mother and my husband’s (pictured here with one of her grandsons) picked up the phone and called us regularly.
But our mothers’ lives were cut short due to congestive heart failure and to pancreatic cancer.
Without our mothers we are lost.
After my mother’s passing twenty years ago, I yearn for those updates.
And I often think about my mother-in-law calling excitedly with some news. All that stopped eight years ago.
I miss my Mamas!
