That’s 365 Days at 24 Hours a Day x 60
Dear Caregiver,
How will you spend your TIME in 2016?
[UPDATE: 2016 is a Leap Year. See comment below this post.]
Barring an unforeseen exit from the Stage of LIFE, we’ll each receive the same gift of 525,600 minutes to spend anyway we decide.
Like the money we earn, how we spend our TIME during the year is up to us.
All those minutes add up to 8,760 hours. How will you spend your 525,600 minutes?
- Caregiving?
- Exercising?
- Learning something new?
- Preparing meals?
- Reading?
- Serving others (besides caregiving)?
- Shopping?
- Sleeping?
- Traveling?
- Working?
- A combination of the above?
- Doing something else?
Start today, to create a budget for your time in 2016.
On December 31, 2016, you’ll look back and determine whether you spent your time wisely or need to reallocate your budget.
Unlike money, even if you save time, it will never compound to give you more time in the future. What you don’t spend wisely today will be gone tomorrow.
You can leverage your time, by hiring someone to do something while you do something else. You can plan to enjoy a caregiver respite (sleep, shop, take a short trip) by hiring an in-home caregiver or using adult day services. You can hire a coach to help you to accomplish something faster and easier than if you took the time to learn how to do it yourself.
What will you do with your annual gift of 525,600 minutes in 2016?

Thank YOU to JAG Tutorials for inspiring this 525,600 idea in their Windows 10 Tutorial on YouTube.
Uh-ohh, while preparing an upcoming review (of House of Doolittle calendars), I learned that 2016 is a Leap Year. WOWEEEE! We have 1,440 more minutes for a total of 527,040 minutes for the year. Niiiiiice!
Does dreaming about all the things you would like to do count lol 🙂 But seriously great list of things. Thanks Brenda.
Dream experts might say that your dreams help you work through life/reality. So, they just may count, Sheri.
May you, Bob, and Al have a wonderful New Year’s Eve leading into a better New Year. We’ve all been through a lot this year–YOU, especially.
