Two former family caregivers planned to visit the San Diego Zoo. Then COVID-19 caused the closure of venues where people would gather at unsafe distances.
Loraine Yates and I met online in the late 1990s, while caring for our parents. She cared for her mom and I, for my father. Both parents were diagnosed with dementia.
Despite our planned “girls time out” for a little FUN, we are flexible. Fortunately, so is the San Diego Zoo. The team at the zoo is creative and resourceful enough to offer fans a selection of live cameras to view animals in action. Of course, there are also animals in a state of inaction, such as the sleeping koalas (they’re soooo cute) and those stealthy tigers. (I’ve yet to see one.)
