Canadian, Ron Beleno, from Toronto, Ontario talks with The Caregiver’s Voice about caring for his late father with dementia for the last ten years, while innovating ways to improve the lives of people with dementia and their caregivers.
He is a glass-half-full-guy who finds joy through the power of choice. With a background in computer science and business, he discovers, creates, and upcycles both high and low-tech ways for people to live well with dementia. Some of his solutions will leave you wondering, “Why didn’t I think of that?”
This only child of Philippine parents, learned to be a caregiver in the most unusual way. In 22 years and talking with thousands of caregivers, I’ve not yet met another who learned to provide care the way Ron did.
Still in his 40s, Ron has wisdom beyond his years. He offers compassion-filled approaches to caregiving. Canadian organizations are smartly taking advantage of his knowledge and creativity.
